Hot Topic of the Month: Seating

Are we sitting comfortably?

"It is easy to underestimate the importance of correct seating in supporting older people to remain healthy. Good seating is an important contributing factor in ensuring the older person remains well."
Maria McManus, Associate Director, Dementia Services Development Centre

We have chosen this topic for Dementia Now to highlight how informed choices of seating can improve the quality of life of an older person, and can make a difference to the work of care home staff. The introduction by Maria McManus gives us many points to consider.
